Why not take a day out of the heat and come to the Forage Summer School for a day of stitching in the air-conditioned comfort of our Belrose studio in Sydney! The workshop will run from 10am-3pm on Saturday 31st January 2026 and include morning/afternoon tea and lunch. In this class you’ll make a SlowStitched panel from reclaimed French textiles hand picked by the Forage team at the Paris flea markets . The panel will be approximately 30cm x 40 cm and Lisa will show you how it can be easily attached to a cushion, bag or maybe a jacket. You’ll learn how to construct the SlowStitched panel and then embellish each piece with applique, embroidery, buttons and beads. You’ll learn simple embroidery stitches and how to use them to great effect and come away with a unique piece to use on the project of your choice. |
Beginner to Advanced. The only prior knowledge required is running stitch. Advanced attendees may want to use more complex techniques. |
The workshop includes all materials required for the project: Backing calico, vintage background linen pieces, French antique fabrics, lace, buttons, other embellishments and thread bar. There will be a choice of colourways. Any questions, please send us a message: foragebylm@gmail.com |
