We found this tatting in Belgium.

It is one continuous piece that measures 560 x 2.5cm

This is a very pretty length of fine shuttle tatting, most likely made in France or Belgium between 1900 and 1930. The lace is worked in white cotton thread and features repeating floral and scrolling motifs joined together with tiny picots, creating a light, airy trim.

One interesting feature is the tiny decorative picot loops that edge every motif. These are not merely ornamental—they demonstrate the maker’s skill, as each picot had to be formed consistently while maintaining even tension throughout the work.
