This is a very nice fine linen handkerchief that we found in France. 

It has several details that suggest it was part of a quality trousseau (bridal linen collection) or a gentleman’s or lady’s personal linen set.

The handkerchief  is made from fine white linen and finished with a delicate picot edging around the perimeter.

There is a decorative small embroidered monogram in pale grey thread in one corner which is interesting as it resembles a stylised floral device rather than simple initials and has an Art Nouveau feel. 

The monogram style is particularly consistent with the period between Late Belle Époque c. 1900–1914
