Included are a pair of small steel sewing scissors with a lovely dark patina, a traditional metal thimble, a wooden reel of vivid green thread with its original decorative label, and a French La Soie Paris “Nylbé” card holding 20 metres of fine brown nylon thread.
Also included is a length of beautiful lilac Murray’s Twisted Embroidery thread, Made in England, together with a small vintage needle packet still containing several needles. The combination of original labels, old packaging and well-used sewing tools gives this collection the feeling of a genuine mid-century sewing basket.
Dating broadly from around the 1930s–60s, it is a lovely little assortment for collectors of vintage haberdashery or for adding authentic old materials to slow stitching and textile work.
