Vintage Abel Morrall Bodkins & Needle Packet

A wonderful group of vintage English steel bodkins and large sewing needles, accompanied by their original Abel Morrall Ltd. “Fox” needle packet from Redditch, England. The packet is charmingly printed “Assorted Bodkins – The Flora Macdonald – Best Steel” and reflects Redditch’s long history as a centre of British needle manufacture.

The assortment includes several sizes and styles of nickel-plated steel bodkins, with large eyes designed for threading ribbon, tape, elastic, cord and wool through casings, together with finer needles. Likely early to mid-20th century, with some surface oxidation and age wear.

A lovely piece of vintage haberdashery, especially appealing with the surviving original illustrated packet.
