Vintage French Picot Loop Trim

A charming length of fine ivory passementerie trim, most likely French, with tiny decorative loops or picots worked continuously along both edges. The tightly woven central braid and minute looped edging give it wonderful texture while remaining very delicate — particularly useful for edging small textile pieces, embellishment and slow stitching.

Composition: Likely cotton or rayon; the slight lustre suggests rayon may be present.

Date: Probably early–mid 20th century.

Special details: Very narrow scale, intricate looped construction and lovely naturally aged ivory colour, with a few areas of gentle discolouration consistent with age.
