Antique French Broderie Anglaise Flounce – c.1900–1920

A beautiful length of fine antique cotton lawn, measuring 70 x 36cm,  richly worked with whitework embroidery and broderie anglaise. The deep border features repeating trailing leaves, flowers and eyelet work, finished in dramatic pointed scallops. 

Most likely originally a petticoat or undergarment flounce, and now a wonderful piece for repurposing in textile work.

Lovely timeworn condition with some age spotting and discolouration, adding to its character.
