French furnishing cotton with neoclassical floral design 40 × 23 cm)
The first piece is a beautiful French printed furnishing cotton, probably dating to c. 1880–1910. The rich cobalt blue ground is decorated with elegant cream and tan floral swags, ribbons, flying birds and scrolling architectural motifs inspired by the Louis XVI style.
French linen ticking fabric(50 × 26 cm)
This is a piece of French linen ticking fabric, probably dating from 1920s. It has the classic natural flax colour with woven cream stripes and a subtle herringbone weave, indicating good-quality linen
French blue checked linen/cotton towelling (56 × 25 cm)
This is a French linen and cotton dating from approximately 1930. The large blue-and-white checks with the narrow coloured selvedge stripe are very characteristic of French domestic textiles. It is in excellent, unused condition.
