Pink striped floral cotton (45 × 33 cm)
This is a printed cotton furnishing fabric dating to approximately 1950–1965.
Its design combines several decorative elements inspired by 18th-century French textiles. These “fancy stripe” prints were extremely popular for bedrooms and country homes during the 1950s and early 1960s.
Navy floral cotton (77 × 25 cm)
It appears to be a mid-century French printed cotton, dating from approximately 1945–1960.
The rich navy ground is decorated with large romantic roses and trailing foliage in soft cream, blush pink and muted green. This colour combination became very fashionable after the Second World War. The scale of the floral design is larger than dress prints from the 1930s, which supports a mid-century date.
The fabric has a lovely soft texture.
