Mended Cotton Embroidery Work - Item 23531

Given the state of our “throw away” society it’s hard to imagine that there used to be a time where people appreciated hand embroidered work so much that they would go to the trouble to repair it. 

Such is the case with this beautiful piece. Someone has mended the centre panel, see pic 3. 

It measures 21cm across. 

Made from white cotton with scalloped edges and an inner border of beautifully executed pulled thread work.
