Different SLOW STITCH workshops to inspire and delight....
101- Introductory class
Lisa recommends you do this workshop before any of the "themed" ones. She will share with you her journey thus far and some of the special treasures that have caught her eye and inspired her along the way.
Have a rummage through those gorgeous old linens that grandma gave you (or the local op shop!), bring them along and learn the art of repurposing them in a contemporary, unique way.
No previous stitching experience is necessary, but is of course welcome.
The classes are designed so that there is no "one size fits all". There are no templates to follow and definitely no right or wrong way to approach your Slow Stitch project.
After the class, whether you have a few moments or hours to give to your Slow Stitching, you will no doubt find that like many of life's great pleasures, the quiet moments you have indulged in will be a recipe for calmness and promote further creativity.
JAPANESE FLORAL MOTIFS
Lisa has a lifelong love of Japanese design elements and textiles. The older, the better! Especially those with floral motifs...
Your goody bag, which is included in your class fee, will have a selection of Lisa's personal stash of Japanese textiles for you to create with.
We will embrace the strong repurposing ethos that exists in Japanese culture, and explore how to recreate floral design elements with a mixture of simple stitching techniques.
The Woodland Series is a nine block quilt, with eachblock or panel themed with a different woodlandmotif.
In the Woodland Workshop we will work on the Mushroom Panel. Lisa will also share with you the rest of the story so you can see how it will all come together if you choose to make the full quilt.
Starter packs (sold separately) are available for eachpanel. These contain a selection of beautiful reclaimed and vintage fabrics from France, specially curated by Lisa to suit each Woodland motif, as well as Wonderfil Eleganza Perle 8 thread and the necessary template and instructions for each panel.
Whether you keep them for yourself, or gift them to others, the projects that Lisa shares with you in her Christmas themed workshop will get you in the spirit of the festive season.
Tree decorations, soft furnishing accessories, and trimmings to use around the home....
