Huntsville Workshop

Lisa is thrilled to have been invited to be a teach her SlowStitching workshop alongside Australia’s doyenne of fine stitching, Gloria McKinnon during “GLORIA’S EMBELLISHING RETREAT” in Huntsville, Alabama  -  a special place that has embraced Gloria with their Southern hospitality for many years! 

The dates are 18, 19 and 20 February 2023
This workshop schedule will include: 
• 3 days in the classroom with Lisa, at the Homewood Suites Downtown, Huntsville. 
Lisa’s class will have an emphasis on her SCRAPPY MISH MASH quilts (see description below) 
• access to “Gloria’s Shopping Treasures”.
• morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea (Tim tams anyone??) each day. 
• dinner on one evening in a beautiful private home

Lisa will also be bringing a treasure trove of beautiful vintage and antique textile pieces she has personally sourced from France, Europe and around the World.

After you have booked into the class we will send you a link which gives you access to a special fee ($149 US) we have negotiated with the Homewood Suites for our students, if you wish to stay in the hotel for the duration of the classes. 

About Lisa’s SCRAPPY MISH MASH workshop: 
This class will show you how to take your favourite foraged textile finds - be they large pieces of old cloth, to the tiniest snippet of lace - and layer them together, with simple stitching, creating unique and meaningful quilts.
Together, we will appreciate taking the time to be considered and respectful with these treasures from yesteryear, and like our foremothers, we will adopt the principles of simplicity and reuse.
Enjoy having a rummage through your collection of beautiful textiles - (old quilt pieces, vintage kitchen and table linens, ribbons/braids, pieces of timeworn tapestries and clothing, as well as new fabrics and notions that have taken your fancy) - and turn them into intricate, decorative quilts to display and treasure.

There will be a kit fee of $90US, payable directly to Lisa on the first day of our classes.
