Come and enjoy some cozy stitching at our Winter School in the Belrose studio!

Recently there has been a movement toward making time in our lives for mindful ‘analogue’ activities… to intentionally break away from the digital world rather than constantly relying on screens or technology.

Often associated with slow stitching, journalling, sketching and reading, an analogue bag contains a collection of your own objects which encourage you to take time out - stitch, write, sketch, mend, and slow down!

No two analogue bags are the same - they evolve with the maker. Your personal bag becomes a portable source of inspiration - it encourages making, reading, and the sensory pleasure of working with your hands. You could include a book, stitching project, small musical instrument, colouring pencils etc. Then take time out - it might be 15 minutes or an hour… find somewhere comfy, leave your phone, tv and laptop behind and choose an activity!

Yes, you could use an old shopping bag, but what about making a beautiful, personal analogue bag for yourself? The bag becomes part of the analogue activity!

In this two day class with Lara you'll make your analogue bag from a French torchon (tea towel), and embellished slow stitched panels - a truly analogue experience!

Materials include: Pattern, French torchon (tea towel), calico backing, reclaimed textiles, reclaimed and antique linen and background fabrics, thread bar, buttons and trims, needle.  Feel free to bring along any buttons, trims, textile pieces that you've been saving for a special project.
